Alpenglow above Quinnebaugh
It's worth the climb, veering off trail and route-picking your way up the slope. Climbing, stepping up rocks and across little streams, scooting across snowfields and boulder fields, pausing to take breaths in the high mountain air. Then finding the perfect tent spot, setting up camp, hanging the bear bag off the face of the largest boulder you can find, boiling up water for dinner, cleaning up and hanging all the goodies that a bear might find interesting, and then finally sitting down and resting to watch the sunset glow off the rocks above Quinnebaugh Meadow.
